Richborough Estates - Testimonial's Video

Richborough Estates was employed by the Presentation Sisters to navigate the planning system in order to achieve planning permission for their land in 2016.  During this time there was a very harmonious working relationship with the company.

Mr Steve Louth was the main contact and at all times was courteous, positive and shared an implicit awareness of our ethos. All dealings with this company were in a professional manner. Much time was given by them to understand the site and the local community so that a high quality development would complement the existing landscape setting.

At this present time we would have no hesitation in recommending Steve or Richborough Estates.

Barratt regards Richborough Estates as a leading UK land promoter. Their land finding skills plus their willingness to back their planning and commercial judgements with investment has produced many good quality housing sites. The Richborough team adopts a professional approach and Barratt hopes to continue purchasing land from Richborough in the years to come.

Phillip Barnes - Group Land and Planning Director, Barratt Developments PLC

From the outset, we have had a professional and effective working relationship with Richborough Estates.  At first, we were a little hesitant about their role. However, it quickly became clear that we were working in partnership to achieve the same goal of acquiring planning permission on twenty five acres and securing the best deal for the disposal of our land. Our project was managed throughout by one of Richborough’s Directors, who was easily contactable, very approachable and kept us informed of progress at all stages. Although planning permission was achieved early on, our application was not straightforward and was held up for three years owing to a Village Green application and the slow bureaucracy of both the judicial system and local government.  Throughout, Richborough Estates was able to call upon its own planning consultants and legal experts to address successfully the many challenging obstacles which we encountered, although there were a few grey areas when it came to deducting the costs for this expert advice. On balance, the benefits we gained from having Richborough Estates on our side to negotiate on our behalf far outweighed any negatives. We were relieved of the financial burden and eased of the mental frustrations associated with the many setbacks we encountered during the lengthy planning process. Thanks to Richborough Estates, a successful outcome was finally achieved. We can offer reassurance to others that Richborough Estates is a good company to work with and we would recommend it to other landowners wanting to obtain planning permission.

Colin and Judith Davenport - Landowners at Somerford

From our experience, Richborough Estates is a first class operation for promoting land for development.  We trusted them to undertake all aspects of the planning application procedure and sale of our land and were delighted with the result. Their professional, helpful and personable approach coupled with considerable expertise in handling the process has been outstanding. We were kept informed of developments throughout, indeed nothing was ever too much trouble.  We always felt that they would obtain the very best and most sensible deal for us.  Overall an impressive company that acts with integrity.  We have no hesitation in recommending Richborough.

I would like to give our testimonial as to the way negotiations were handled by Richborough Estates. During the whole process from first contacting us, to the conclusion, we found all aspects of the procedure were carried out in a very professional manner.  Any queries were dealt with very promptly and in an amiable way.  Many thanks for all your help.

The team at Richborough successfully obtained planning permission on 13 acres of our land. Richborough made what we thought would have been a very complicated and drawn out process quite straight forward. The team were very thorough and very approachable and always available if we needed. We would have no hesitation in recommending Richborough to others in a similar position to ourselves.

The Richborough team acted for our family and successfully obtained planning permission on approximately 10 acres of our land.  We had previously entered into option arrangements directly with developers but those had not led anywhere so we were pleased to discover Richborough whose approach is clearly different; we liked the fact that their interests were, unlike the developers, completely aligned with ours.  The Richborough team impressed us right from the start.  This was a complicated project but Richborough made it as simple as possible and we were properly consulted and kept fully informed at all times.  Richborough were very efficient and highly dedicated throughout.  We were amazed by the huge amount of work that was required and yet how quickly this was all accomplished.  They had all the right people and advisors and always had a very clear plan of action. The planning application was initially refused but Richborough put together an extremely detailed and sophisticated appeal that was successful.  They more than earned their money on this project.  We cannot believe that anyone could have done a better job and we unreservedly recommend them.

We had very little knowledge of what might be involved in trying to obtain Planning Permission for a 10 acre field that had hitherto been rented to a local farmer.  We were thoroughly sceptical about the idea altogether, but our Land Agent was working with Richborough on another project, and said they seemed very efficient.  With bewildering speed they put together a proposal and masterplan, and leapt into action with detailed plans, meetings with the Council and with the neighbourhood.  Deadlines for the Council’s new Plan loomed impossibly near, but Richborough calmly took us through all the stages and past all the possible problems to obtain Planning Permission and squeeze us in within just a few months.  They had the right people and the right contacts, and when a last-minute problem arose, knew exactly what to do, and got us safely through to the successful sale.  We have been very impressed by their speed and efficiency, and by the way they worked with our other advisors.  We have no hesitation in recommending them to others in a similar position to ourselves.

/live/testimonials/dieter-senn.jpgWe entered into a Promotion Agreement with Richborough to promote a 16 acre site for housing following a straightforward negotiation and legal process. Richborough conducted pre-application discussions with officers of the Council and other stakeholders and held a public exhibition for local residents, which enabled various agreements to be reached prior to the submission of the application. As a result Planning Permission was granted at the first and shortest opportunity available and well within the agreed time frame. We found Richborough very thorough and expedient throughout their dealings with us and the planning process itself and we would not hesitate in recommending other landowners to work with them.
