Richborough Estates is promoting a 17.7 hectare site to the south of the market town of Ludlow in south Shropshire on land between the A49 to the east and the railway to the west.
A planning application was submitted for the development of approximately 137 dwellings including 25% affordable housing in accordance with Council policy. A new vehicular access will be delivered off the A49 whilst our proposals will also deliver new footpaths and cycle ways connecting through to the adjacent Local Centre on Sheet Road and to Ludlow town centre to the north.
The layout allows for clusters of housing located within themed landscape areas to respect the landscape and the heritage assets within and adjacent to the site and delivering large areas of public open space to the south of Ludlow.
Following the refusal of an outline planning application for 137 dwellings by Shropshire Council in September 2015, a Public Inquiry was held in August and October 2016. Consequently, our appeal was allowed and outline planning permission was granted on 10th November 2016 for 137 dwellings. A copy of the appeal decision can be downloaded below.
The site was sold to Crest in December 2017.
