The Land Promoters and Developers Federation (LPDF) is made up of sixteen organisations from across the land promoters and developers sector, who have come together to speak with one voice on common issues relating to housing delivery. Richborough Estates is proud to be one of the founding members of the LPDF.
The perceived opacity, complexity and lengthy nature of the planning system is commonly blamed for the supply of housing not meeting the demand for new homes. Within this, the role land promoters and developers play in the delivery of housing, infrastructure and new communities is often misunderstood – an issue we want to rectify. Consequently, we have already begun engaging in the national debate by submitting a response to the Homes, Communities and Local Government Select Committee’s Inquiry on Land Value Capture and we look forward to engaging more widely with all those with an interest in how we bring forward new homes for those so desperately in need of a place to call their own.
By coming together, despite our differing and competing interests, our ambition is to add to and enhance the current debate on housing supply and be part of the process of finding solutions that makes the future for those still searching for a home of their own a brighter one.
Russel Crow, Chair of the Technical and Policy Committee says: “The LPDF is looking forward to engaging positively with Central Government, Ministers and other key stakeholder. The Technical and Policy Committee will be responding to formal consultations and carrying out research in order to advance the debate on all issues relating to the delivery of housing, infrastructure and new communities; as well as demonstrating the key role that LPDF members have to play in the process of tackling the housing crisis.”
