The proposed development is outline planning application for residential development of up to 25 dwellings with associated car parking, landscaping, public open space and vehicular access from Burton Lane has been dismissed.
The main issues are firstly, whether the proposed housing would be in a suitable location having regard to local and national policies for sustainable development; secondly, whether the proposal makes adequate provision for affordable housing and for mitigating any adverse impact the scheme would have upon local services and infrastructure; thirdly, the effect of the proposal on the character and appearance of the area, having particular regard to the desirability of preserving the setting of the listed church and that of the Wymeswold Conservation Area; and fourthly, whether there are any other material considerations which would justify the scheme being determined other than in accordance with the development plan
