Hind Heath Road, Sandbach
Richborough’s proposal for the Hind Heath Road site is a residential scheme for up to 269 dwellings on a greenfield site of 7.44 hectares on the edge of Sandbach. We propose to create a footpath linking Wheelock and Ettiley Heath.
Richborough Estates secured the site in 2010 and a planning application was submitted in July 2010. Cheshire East Council refused the application in October 2010 and an appeal was lodged against that decision in November 2010. The appeal was recovered by the Secretary of State (SoS) (Eric Pickles) for the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and following a four day public enquiry in February 2011. The SoS dismissed the appeal in July 2011 against the Inspector’s recommendation to allow the development.
After successfully challenging the decision, the appeal is expected to be re-determined in early 2012.
